Cookbook: Pork Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao)

Preparation

Step 1

Pre-start steamer, set at 200 degrees if option exists. 

OR boil water in a wide, flat surfaced pot or pan (must have a lid). 

Place provided steaming sheet onto heat-safe plate, then unpack contents and lay buns evenly onto a plate which fits into the steamer/pot with boiling water.

Tip: It will be easier to avoid breaking the dumplings if you place them on a larger plate and avoid contact between the dumplings. 

 

Step 2

Carefully place plate into the pan with boiling water (or steamer) and place lid on. Steam for 10-12 minutes. 

Step 3

Once complete, carefully remove hot plate from pot/steamer with hot plate gripper or wet towel. Enjoy hot! 

Warning: Careful when eating, soup inside is extremely hot.
